Dr. Philip S. Newman

Dr. Philip S. Newman completed a BA degree in Biology from the University of Rochester in 1979.  He earned his medical degree from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in 1983.  He completed his residency in Podiatric Surgery at the Loretto Hospital in Chicago, Illinois.   His two-year residency at the Loretto Hospital focused on the surgical management of foot disorders, diabetic foot care, sports medicine and geriatric foot health.  Dr. Newman established this practice in 1986 and has focused on providing personal comprehensive foot care to the community for over 30 years.   He served as Chief of the Podiatry Section at Somerset Medical Center (now RWJ-Somerset) for many years.  Dr. Newman covers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset campus for general podiatry services where he has been part of the medical staff for over thirty years.  He also covers multiple assisted living facilities in the community for general podiatric care.  Dr. Newman is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He has over 3 decades of private practice and hospital experience.  Dr. Newman enjoys treating all patients like family members and has created a warm comfortable environment for his patients.  He is the founder of this practice.   


Dr. Robert P. Thiele

Dr. Robert P. Thiele completed a BA degree in Biology from Arcadia University and earned his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery at Hoboken University Medical Center, one of the country's top residency programs, where he also served as Chief Resident. He has been involved with the care of various professional athletic organizations throughout his training, and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Thiele served as the Chief of the Podiatry Section, Department of Surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital–Somerset for a total of 9 years over the past 17 years.   He is instructor of Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Podiatric Residency Program at Hoboken University Medical Center and Morristown Podiatric Residency Program.  He serves on various hospital committees at RWJ University Hospital including: the Continuing Medical Education, Operating Room, and Credentialing committees.   Dr. Thiele specializes in both the non-operative and surgical management of all foot and ankle conditions, ranging from pediatric to geriatric care, including sports medicine. His expertise ranges from routine foot surgery to more advanced surgical reconstruction of the foot and ankle including, but not limited to, trauma, limb salvage procedures and as well as revision surgery.  He operates at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital–Somerset and the Surgical Center at Cedar Knolls.  Dr. Thiele is also a member of a highly trained wound care team at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset Center for Wound Healing.   He serves as a Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgeon at the wound care center.   This team of wound specialists manages very complicated lower extremity wounds.  Dr. Thiele has two board certifications in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rear foot / Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He has over 17 years of private practice and hospital experience.  Dr. Thiele enjoys treating patients like family and is very happy and proud to be a part of this practice. 


Dr. Prashant H. Bhoola

Dr. Prashant H. Bhoola received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the Rochester Institute of Technology and medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery at the Crozer-Keystone Health System near Philadelphia, which is one of the country's leading residency programs. Dr. Bhoola has been trained also by the team podiatrist of the Philadelphia Eagles Football Organization. He teaches foot and ankle surgery to the Podiatric Residents of Morristown Medical Center. He specializes in both the non-operative and surgical management of all foot and ankle conditions, ranging from pediatric to geriatric care, including sports medicine. His expertise ranges from routine foot surgery to more advanced surgical reconstruction of the foot and ankle including, but not limited to trauma, limb salvage and revision surgery. He covers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital–Somerset and the Surgery Center at Cedar Knolls.  Recently, Dr. Bhoola was invited to join the Center for Wound Healing at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset.   He serves as a Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgeon at the wound care center.   He is part of a highly selected team that manages very complicated lower extremity wounds.  Dr. Bhoola is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and is board qualified in Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rear foot/ Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Bhoola enjoys treating patients like family and is very happy and proud to be a part of this practice.
